About Our Club
About Us The Notre Dame Club of Ann Arbor has been recognized as one of the best of all Notre Dame Alumni Clubs. In 2006, the University recognized the Notre Dame Club of Ann Arbor with the Lennon Award, which is awarded to outstanding alumni clubs. The Notre Dame Club of Ann Arbor organizes events that are social, educational, spiritual and community service based. We assist high schools in college fairs to help prospective students learn more about Notre Dame, and we sponsor an annual picnic for current Notre Dame students and their parents. We have special events for Young Alumni who live in the Ann Arbor area. The Club also raises money for its Scholarship program, which helps area students pay for their Notre Dame tuition, and for its Summer Service Project, where we pay the expenses for one or two current Notre Dame students to work on a summer service project in the area. In 2007, our students worked in Ypsilanti at the Hope Clinic, which provides free medical services to low income residents. Another special role is to sponsor and organize the Notre Dame tailgater when the Notre Dame football team plays at Michigan. The 2007 tailgater attracted 1,200 people with more than half of them being current Notre Dame students. Find out more about the many on-going and special activities we sponsor. There is something for everyone. So come out and get involved!
Club History
Founding members John Freitas, Jerry McKay, and Frank Visovatti are still deeply involved in club administration. Club membership is open to all friends of Notre Dame. A club directory is produced each year for our members. We are active in the Ann Arbor community through voluntary public service. The events we sponsor are a balance of social, spiritual, fund raising and community service efforts. We welcome new alumni and friends to the Ann Arbor area. |
